Since 2021, the Black Trans Advocacy Coalition and FOLX Health have partnered to provide gender-affirming hormone therapy (GAHT, also known as HRT) and wrap-around services for members of the trans community who otherwise couldn’t afford this life-saving treatment, with a specific focus on Black trans and nonbinary individuals.
The year-long grants cover:
- gender-affirming hormone therapy prescription medications (e.g. estrogen and testosterone) shipped directly to grantees
- clinical visits with FOLX’s trans-specialist clinicians
- lab work and hormone monitoring
- care navigation and advocacy
- support for basic needs such as housing and employment
We are accepting applications for the grants from June 1-30. 70% of grants will go to Black trans and nonbinary people. 20% will go to non-Black trans and nonbinary people of color.
