[vc_row][vc_column width=”2/3″][vc_column_text]Since 2021, the Black Trans Advocacy Coalition and FOLX Health have partnered to provide gender-affirming hormone therapy (GAHT, also known as HRT) and wrap-around services for members of the trans community who otherwise couldn’t afford this life-saving treatment, with a specific focus on Black trans and nonbinary individuals.
The year-long grants cover:
- gender-affirming hormone therapy prescription medications (e.g. estrogen and testosterone) shipped directly to grantees
- clinical visits with FOLX’s trans-specialist clinicians
- lab work and hormone monitoring
- care navigation and advocacy
- support for basic needs such as housing and employment
We are accepting applications for the grants from June 1-30. 70% of grants will go to Black trans and nonbinary people. 20% will go to non-Black trans and nonbinary people of color.

To make sure we reach marginalized members of the community, we are reserving 80% of the HRT Fund Microgrants for BIPOC.
HRT Fund Microgrants cover 12 months of HRT prescriptions and care via the Folx Membership and Services outlined below.
Estrogen HRT Membership Includes:
- Clinical care (telehealth video visits & secure messaging)
- Expert 1-on-1 telehealth visits and unlimited messaging with care team
- Medications & supplies shipped directly
- Automated prescription refill & lab reminders
- Letters for name change and/or gender marker change.
- Lab monitoring (Estradiol, testosterone, potassium and creatinine if on spironolactone) provided via Quest Labs in-person
- Medication & supplies shipped directly to the individual: Estradiol pills; Injectable estradiol valerate or Injectable estradiol cypionate including Injectable supplies (syringes, sharps container, etc.); Estradiol patches; Spironolactone; Finasteride; Dutasteride; micronized progesterone; medroxyprogesterone

Testosterone HRT Membership Includes:
- Clinical care (telehealth video visits & secure messaging)
- Expert 1-on-1 telehealth visits and unlimited messaging with care team
- Medications & supplies shipped directly
- Automated prescription refill & lab reminders
- Letters for name change and/or gender marker change.
- Lab monitoring (Testosterone and hemoglobin) provided via Quest Labs in-person
- Medication & supplies shipped directly to the individual: Testosterone gel; Injectable testosterone cypionate or Injectable Testosterone Enanthate including injectable supplies (syringes, sharps container, etc.)
Criteria
- You must be at least 18 years old.
- This grant intends to serve those with immediate need. Therefore, if you apply for a grant, you must initiate services within three months of acceptance.
