The National Black Trans Advocacy Coalition is proud to formally acknowledge and celebrate the transgender community and activist for black trans equality. This honorable award acknowledgment is in recognition of individuals, groups and organizations who are focused on transformative leadership, the advancement of the black trans movement and global social change.
Black Trans Advocacy Awards are intended to highlight outstanding achievements in the following four categories:
Nominations will be evaluated by a panel of judges. Judges will review narrative descriptions of each nominee’s accomplishments and select winners in each category. Final award winners will be announced at gala event.
Please feel free to provide photographs, copies of media coverage, and other supportive evidence of the impact made by the nominated individual &/or agency.
All accepted award nominees will receive a certificate of recognition. Category winners will receive a trophy. The award recipient(s) of each category will be announced and honored during the 11th Annual Black Trans Advocacy Awards Gala, held at the Hilton Garden Inn Duncanville in Dallas, Texas Friday, April 26, 2024.

Kylar Broadus Equality Award – recognizes individuals who have dedicated themselves to advancing human rights for transgender people. Community work may be demonstrated through their commitment to elevate the status of transgender peopole, improve community policies giving every individual a chance to achieve their potential, free from prejudice and discrimination, and whose accomplishments are consistent with Advancing the mission of the Black Trans Advocacy Coalition
