Mission Driven Program Focus

The Black Trans Advocacy Coalition (BTAC) mission is to improve the Black trans human experience, by overcoming violence and injustice in the world, through the power, value and love of all people.
 
We are getting ready for our next fiscal year June 1 2024 – May 30, 2025.  Along with our Annual National Conference & Awards Gala, we have seven key program services provided to the community throughout the year to be provided by current and future program sponsors and community partners.
 
Our program focus for trans people includes resource information & referral, emergency, food pantry, health, employment, financial services, and first-time home buyers assistance.

Program Service Information/Details

As we fight for social and political eqality for the transgender community, we have an urgent daily need for black trans people to obtain their basic needs or opportunities to truly thrive. As always, it takes the community to support the community!
Program sponsors and community partners together with BTAC will combine our talents and resources to provide much-needed aid.

Your sponsorship makes things possible helping to reach and serve more people with our program services.  Program Sponsorship donations start at $2500 and will receive corporate sponsor-level benefits.


Trans Support Service:  program provides information and referral to community partner health, housing, employment, legal resources, and navigation services tues-thurs 10am-2pm


Emergency Service: program helps to cover unexpected emergency needs such as rental/mortage assistance, safe transportation and phone/utility expenses.  Also provides  local emergency shelter for the homeless

 


Food Pantry Service: program provides free food to those who live in food deserts or dealing with poverty overcome hunger with daily food pantry meals, disaster response meals, and thanksgiving and christmas holiday meals


Health Service: program provides trans health education and counseling focused on identity development and holistic wellness, healthcare grants to access Folx Health primary care, hrt healthcare services, Better Help behavioral/mental health care services, nutrition and fitness services, and financial aid for gender-affirming surgery.


Employment Service: program provides career-focused education and coaching, job readiness and retention services, and connects hiring community partners with transgender job seekers. Financial aid to cover clothes and transportation to get a job included.


Financial Service: program provides financial education and coaching focused on increasing savings, and credit score, debt reduction, and moving from unbanked to banked to obtain the goal of financial stability. Financial aid to match first savings deposit included.


First-time Homebuyer Service: program provides first-time homebuyer education and coaching focused on pre/post home purchase process, homeowner retention and downpayment financial assistance .
