BTAC 2017 is excited that you will volunteer and contribute your skills and expertise towards the cause. We need you to help make the 6th Annual National Black Trans Advocacy Conference a true success!


BTAC offers a myriad of volunteer opportunities ranging from high participation levels (Chair/CoChair) to projects that allow you to engage throughout the year as your schedule permits.


Our volunteer opportunities are flexible and respect your busy time and schedule. From a year-long commitment to an hour of your time, BTAC projects enable you to get involved as your schedule permits.

Volunteer Program Roles/Responsibilities:

Committee Chair

  • Responsible for organizing meetings & delegating tasks for the committee to ensure overall milestones are met.
  • 40hrs Per Month  Management & Administrative Duties
  • Duration: 12-Month Program


Committee Co-Chair

  • Responsible for keeping up current status of tasks and overall milestones, and assisting lead. Act as a backup to chair
  • 20hrs Per Month  Co-Management & Administrative Duties
  • Duration: 12-Month Program


Committee Member

  • Responsible for assistance in completing tasks as needed.
  • 5-10hrs Per program, project or event assignment
  • Duration: Per Assignment

Eligibility/Criteria for Volunteering

  • Must apply, interview, and be selected
  • Must complete volunteer contract upon selection
  • Must be able to commit to a certain amount of hours per month
    • Committee Chair: 5-10 hrs per week
    • Committee Co-Chair: 3-5 hrs per week
    • Committee Member: based on contract
  • Must participate in BTAC general or attendee scholarship fundraiser

  • Eligible applications will be evaluated on a first-come, first-served basis July 15-July 25.
