Funds will allow BTAC to continue to serve the black trans community
The National Black Trans Advocacy Coalition (BTAC) is one of the 18 recipients of the singer Ariana Grande’s fundraiser through her Protect & Defend Trans Youth Fund.
Grande made a pledge to support trans youth after Governor Ron DeSantis of Florida signed bill HB 1557, also known as the ‘Don’t Say Gay’ bill.
When Grande announced the pledge on her Instagram account, she wrote that there are “hundreds of disgraceful bills pending that target trans youth and aim to curb their rights.”
As of April 12, the singer’s fund has raised a total $750,872.
BTAC is excited to be one of the recipients of Grande’s fund, which will allow our organization to continue to serve the black trans community through our services and programs, as well as fight for their rights.
