Position: Empowerment Program Facilitator
Location: Remote/In-Person/Hybrid
Schedule: Monday (4 hours), Tuesday-Thursday (12-8 PM CST), Friday (4 hours)
Compensation: $18/hour, 32 hours per week
Start Date: March 17, 2025
Contract Duration: One-year contract
Position Overview
We are actively seeking passionate and dedicated facilitators to support our Empowerment Program. This program is designed to provide ongoing mentorship, leadership development, and community-building opportunities for participants through structured activities, check-ins, and retreats.
We are hiring three facilitators: a trans man, a trans woman, and a non-binary/ gender-expansive individual to ensure diverse representation and leadership of the Black Trans community.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct monthly 1-on-1 check-ins to provide personalized mentorship and guidance.
- Cultivate a safe, affirming, and inclusive environment for all participants.
- Support program enrollees in setting and achieving their personal and professional goals through guidance and encouragement.
- Facilitate monthly group meetings that foster community-building, leadership, and skill development.
- Plan and oversee quarterly group activities that enhance engagement, empowerment, and peer support.
- Coordinate and execute an annual group retreat, creating space for reflection, connection, and growth.
- Participate in team meetings and administrative tasks (Mondays and Fridays) to ensure program effectiveness.
- Monitor and document participant progress, adjusting strategies as needed to enhance success.
- Maintain accurate data records and submit regular reports on participant achievements and program impact.
- Travel is required (approximately 15-20%) to lead quarterly activities, facilitate the annual retreat, participate in the Empowerment Summit at the National Black Trans Advocacy Conference, and attend other relevant conferences.
Remote Work Requirements
- Must have a quiet and private work station.
- Must have a desktop, laptop, or tablet.
- Must have a reliable high-speed internet connection.
- Additional equipment: Headphones preferred.
Ideal Candidates Will Have:
- Lived experience as a black trans man, trans woman, or non-binary/gender expansive individual.
- Experience facilitating group discussions, trainings, or community-building programs.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Passion for social justice and creating inclusive spaces.
- Ability to commit to the set schedule (Mon-Fri with core hours Tues-Thurs, 12-8 PM CST).
Compensation & Benefits:
- $18/hour for 32 hours per week.
