National Minority Health Month
April is National Minority Health Month! During this month, the National Institute on Minority Health and Health Disparities highlights research and initiatives designed to improve the lives of Black and Brown folks.
Health disparities refers to differences in health status and illness that people of marginalized race, ethnicity, immigration status, disability, gender, or geographic region experience due to socioeconomic and institutional factors.
For National Minority Health Month, BTAC’s initiatives include:
- Sending PPE Health Kits to the community
- Blog post about COVID updates, vaccination, and masking
- Youtube Video on Black Trans health
